Next Gen Health and Lifestyle Clubs are a premium members-only offering to the gym market in Australia and New Zealand. Awarded the mechanical services D&C contract by building specialists Manteena, Benmax played a key role in the construction of Canberra’s first Next Gen Club located in Lyneham, North Canberra.

From the initial design phase through to construction, Benmax’s experience in managing complex builds ensured the ongoing demands of conceptual and structural changes in the new build were managed effectively whilst maintaining the overall aesthetic and compressed timeline requirements of the job.

The two-storey $13m facility provides a diverse range of services including:

• pool facilities (25m heated indoor pool & 25m heated outdoor pool)
• vitality spa (6m x 4m)
• steam and sauna facilities
• gym with group fitness, yoga and spin studio rooms
• squash courts (x6)
• office accommodation and meeting rooms
• restaurant, bar and members lounge
• crèche facilities, and
• retail tenancies.

Following the success of the build, the Benmax maintenance and service team (BEMS) secured the multiyear service and maintenance contract for the facility and continue to manage the facility today.
