1986
Benmax is established
A group of passionate HVAC professionals working together at New Parliament House decide to start their own company—Benmax is born, based in Queanbeyan, NSW.
1986
First project delivered
The team completes its first official project at Forrest Primary School, Canberra, modifying the school’s heating systems.
1988
On-site workshop opens
To maintain full control over quality, Benmax builds its first on-site workshop with a dedicated trade team producing duct and pipework for an expanding project workload.
2000
Service & Maintenance team established
A dedicated team is formed to meet client demand for high-level servicing and preventative maintenance. Today, this team has grown to over 35 specialists, providing expert support across all Benmax office locations.
2015
Newcastle office opens
Expanding Benmax’s in-house drafting and engineering capabilities, a new designed-focused office is opened in Newcastle, NSW. Today, the expanded team offers a full suite of HVAC services from planning and design to construction and service.
2016
Sydney office opens
Having delivered projects across NSW for many years, Benmax officially establishes a Sydney office, launching with its first major project at Castle Towers Shopping Precinct.
2018
Prefabrication facility opens
Always looking for ways to improve, increase productivity, and find efficiencies for clients, Benmax invest in a dedicated prefabrication facility with a specialist in-house team capable of managing all aspects of the prefabrication and modular construction process, from design to installation.
2022
Hydro Industries joins Benmax
Recognising the importance of responsible water management and efficient water treatment in the HVAC industry, Benmax acquires long-standing local water treatment specialists Hydro Industries ensuring clients have access to expert advice and extensive service capabilities.
2023
Benmax acquires Amos Air
Expanding its offering of prompt, local support in HVAC, refrigeration and fire compliance services, Benmax acquires Amos Air expanding its reach beyond Newcastle, into the Hunter regions, Central Coast and Mid North Coast of NSW.
2025
East Air Filtration
Adding to its in-house service offering, Benmax purchases 20-year Newcastle based business East Air Filtration. It sees the team expand its offering across the east coast of NSW to include speciliased filter installation and maintenance services.
